Choosing the Right Company

In case you haven't already heard, there’s some big buzz going on about the FTC taking actions against a prominent network marketing company.  I am not going to name names or go into details.  That information has been all over the internet.  And of course, along with it, come the network marketing naysayers once again proclaiming that our industry is nothing more than an illegal pyramid scheme.

Yes, it is true that such schemes exist.  But most companies don't set out to operate a scam.  They truly do want to run a legitimate business.  Unfortunately, oftentimes they are ignorant of the laws governing direct selling.  Or they are familiar with the laws, but as their company grows they fail to enforce them with all distributors.  And when that happens it results in a lot of negative press for our industry.

But for every careless company or outright dishonest scam, there are plenty of reputable companies that are founded on integrity and which know the importance of conducting business in a fully professional manner.  That includes following the rules and regulations put in place by law.  They very carefully regulate and mandate what reps are and are not allowed to do when it comes to building their businesses.

If you need to know what to look for when searching for a legitimate network marketing company, you can check out a blog post I wrote two years ago.  It provides a detailed comparison between pyramid schemes and legitimate companies.  I am not going to go into that here.  That is not what this post is about.  This post concerns how to choose the company that is the right fit for YOU!

There are several things you want to look for when choosing a network marketing company.  The first thing I look for is how am I approached?  Am I promised that I can make $1000s of dollars in no time and that it will be easy to be making a six-figure income in no time?  Red flag!  I will go with the company that shows me that money can be made IF I am willing to do the work - and then shows me what work will be required to get there.  This means I want to see the compensation plan and have it explained to me thoroughly.  If the person recruiting you can't explain it and doesn't offer to find someone who can, move on.  That's a good indicator that there is little training or support on this team.

Training and support is very important.  A good company will provide all the training you need to learn how to build your business.  They will hold training calls on their products.  There will be support available from upline team members.  If any of this is lacking, you might want to look elsewhere.

Lastly, look at the products.  All of the above items are great, but if you can't be proud of the products you represent, they are all irrelevant.  You have to be a passionate user of the products you represent.  Otherwise, how are you going to sell them to me?

Fortunately, I work with  Ariix.  Ariix is THE Opportunity Company™, engaged in the business of SELLING exclusive name brand products.  We are not an investment in which people spend and earn money to enroll, expecting a return on a financial investment.  We know you love our best in class products in each of our brands and the benefits they provide, and if you earn commissions for selling products, that’s even better!  I am SO glad I am with Ariix!  It’s good to be in a company that not only follows regulations, but also enforces them on all.  Are you ready to join us?  Let's do this!
